Worlds & backups
Your world is the one thing on the server you cannot download again from somewhere else. We take a backup every night and keep the 10 most recent, and you can make one yourself before anything risky.
Restoring is one button, but it replaces everything that is on the server now. The articles below explain what to check first so you get back the world you meant.
Two more things live next to your backups: game rules as switches, such as keep inventory, and a reset to a fresh world or a fresh server that takes a backup before it deletes anything.

A backup routine that fits most servers
Leave the nightly backup as it is and add one of your own before every risky change: a new Minecraft version, a modpack update, a world reset or a big plugin. Lock the backup of a milestone you want to keep, such as the world at the end of a season, so it is never pushed out by newer ones.
Once in a while, download a backup to your own computer. It is the one copy that does not depend on the server at all.
Delivery: most servers are handed over instantly and run within seconds of payment, the rest follow within 60 minutes during the day and within 12 hours at night.
