12 GB Minecraft Server Hosting
12 GB is the first size where the answer to "will this run" is simply yes. Every modpack with a page on this site fits, including the three hundred mod packs that 8 GB can only just hold, and there is still memory left for the people playing on them. It is also the size most of our customers land on, which is less of a recommendation than a description: this is where a server stops being a compromise. €13.59 a month.

- 6 vCPU
- 12 GB RAM
- 200 GB SSD

Every modpack on this site fits in 12 GB
All 6 of them, and not one of them tightly. The distinction matters: a pack that fits with nothing to spare runs fine on an empty server and falls over the first busy evening, because the memory that should absorb a spike is already spoken for. On 12 GB the heaviest pack we cover leaves room to breathe.
| Modpack | Memory it asks for | On 12 GB |
|---|---|---|
| RLCraftHardcore survival with Lycanites Mobs, Ice & Fire, and punishing difficulty. Entity-heavy and needs solid RAM. | 6 - 8 GB | Fits |
| All The Mods 10Kitchen-sink pack with 400+ mods spanning tech, magic, and exploration. Heavy world generation demands fast storage. | 8 - 12 GB | Fits, tight |
| PixelmonPokemon inside Minecraft. Custom structures, biome spawning, and battle mechanics on top of the base game. | 4 - 6 GB | Fits |
| CreateMechanical engineering with gears, conveyors, and trains. CPU-intensive when contraptions get large. | 4 - 6 GB | Fits |
| SevTech: AgesProgression-based pack that locks content behind ages. Recipe changes and world-gen tweaks add to resource usage. | 6 - 8 GB | Fits |
| Vault HuntersDungeon-crawling RPG modpack with randomized vaults. Each vault generates fresh chunks, so storage speed matters. | 8 GB+ | Fits |
How far 12 GB stretches
The useful way to read this is not as a player count but as a pair: how heavy is the pack, and how far do people travel. A three hundred mod pack with ten people who stay near spawn is comfortable here. The same pack with ten people who each ride off in a different direction is the point where 12 GB starts working for its money, because every one of them is generating new world at the same time.
| What you run | Memory the guide lists |
|---|---|
| Vanilla 1-5 playersLightweight survival or creative with friends | 2-4 GB |
| Vanilla 10-20 playersSmall community with plugins like EssentialsX | 4-8 GB |
| Light modpack (50 mods)Create, Cobblemon, or similar packs | 4-6 GB |
| Medium modpack (100-200 mods)All the Mods Lite, Better MC | 6-8 GB |
| Heavy modpack (300+ mods)All the Mods 10, RLCraft, Enigmatica | 8-12 GB |
What 12 GB will not do
It will not run two heavy servers at once. That is the real ceiling here, and it is a different one from 8 GB: you are no longer limited by the pack, you are limited by how many worlds you want loaded at the same time. If you are planning a lobby with a survival and a creative server behind it, Premium at 24 GB is where that starts to make sense, for €10.40 more a month.
Below it, Starter at 8 GB is €4.80 a month cheaper and covers the same modpacks, just with less room when the server is busy. If your group is small and stays small, that is a fair trade rather than a downgrade.
What comes with 12 GB
6 vCPU
Six cores is the point where a heavy pack stops queueing behind itself. Redstone, mob ticking and world generation each get somewhere to go instead of taking turns on the same core while your players wait.
200 GB SSD
Room for a heavy pack, a well-travelled world and a stack of your own backups without you having to think about it. Packs are large on disk; worlds get larger the longer people play.
DDoS filtering that is not a product
Layer 3, 4 and 7 protection is on this plan the same as on every other one, at no extra cost. There is nothing to buy once an attack is already happening, which is the only time anyone ever thinks about it.
An AI Copilot that reads your server
On a modded server, most problems arrive as a wall of red text about a mod you have never heard of. The Copilot reads that, tells you which mod, and offers to change the setting or remove it for you.
A free subdomain
One address to hand out, and it keeps working if we ever move your server to another machine. You can point your own domain at it instead whenever you like.
Where a 12 GB server runs
Pick the region while you order rather than asking us afterwards. 9 of them are ours, across the United States, the United Kingdom, the EU and Asia-Pacific, and Germany (EU) carries no surcharge. This size also runs in 18 further cities, which is worth using if your players are spread out.
Questions about 12 GB servers
Is 12 GB enough for a modded server?
Yes, for any pack we have written about, including the three hundred mod ones. All 6 fit with room left over, which is the part that matters when ten people log in at once.
What does 12 GB do that 8 GB does not?
It turns "fits" into "fits comfortably". On 8 GB the heaviest packs sit right on the line, so a busy evening or a second world is what breaks them. 12 GB keeps four gigabytes back for exactly those moments.
Can I run two servers on it?
Two light ones, yes. A lobby and one survival server share this size without trouble. Two heavy modded worlds do not, because each of them wants most of the memory to itself.
Are there setup fees?
Not on the six, twelve or twenty-four month terms. Only month-to-month carries a one-off fee, shown on the order page before you pay.
