Vault Hunters Server Hosting

Vault Hunters is an action RPG built inside Minecraft by iskall85 and his team: level up, pick talents, run timed vaults for loot and collect the 25 artifacts that open the way to the final boss. The Third Edition is built on Forge 1.18.2 and made for playing together.

What Vault Hunters Is

The Vault Hunters modpack logo
Vault Hunters by iskall85 and team: Minecraft 1.18.2 on Forge, 168 mods in the newest release.

The pack has 168 mods, only five of them for players alone, and at its center sits the Vault mod itself. Vaults are dungeons you enter with a crystal and leave before the timer runs out; what you carry out feeds your gear, your skills and your base. Between runs the base is an ordinary modded one, with Mekanism, Create, Thermal, Botania, Refined Storage and Applied Energistics 2 for the players who like to automate.

The artifact hunt gives a group one long term goal to share, and many groups run vaults together and pool what they bring back.

How Much RAM a Vault Hunters Server Needs

Vault Hunters has fewer mods than most packs here, but every vault is a fresh dungeon the server builds from scratch while players wait at the portal, and a group running several vaults at once makes it build several. That is where the memory goes. Our numbers are 6, 8 and 12 GB, for up to three, up to eight and up to sixteen players.

The base side grows the way any modded base does. spark is in the pack, and a profile taken while a vault opens shows how much of the tick goes into building it.

Our memory figures for Vault Hunters by group size, and the plan that covers each with a gigabyte to spare

Why Vault Hunters Belongs on a Server

Vault Hunters was designed around playing together. Progress is personal, with your own level and talents, but the artifacts, the bosses and the base are easier and more fun with others, and a server keeps the world available for everyone whether or not the host is online.

Update with care. The Third Edition has had many releases, and vault content changes between them. Take a backup before every update, and have everyone update their own client to the same version before they join again. Simple Backups in the pack and our nightly backups give you two ways back.

Setting Up Vault Hunters on Our Panel

  1. Back up what is there now

If the server already holds a world, make a backup on the Backups tab. The installer moves an old mods folder aside under a dated name instead of deleting it. A server on Paper or vanilla goes to Forge on the Settings tab first, because the Mods tab only shows on a server with a mod loader.

  2. Search for Vault Hunters on the Mods tab

Type the name and pick the Vault Hunters 3rd Edition entry from CurseForge.

  3. Choose version 3.21.7, or the one your group runs

Take the exact version your players installed. Two releases can differ by a few mods, and a player whose list does not match the server's is turned away at the door.

  4. Install it in one go

The machine fetches the pack itself and switches the server to Forge 40.3.11 for Minecraft 1.18.2 on Java 17. The server pack the makers put out carries the configs, so the server starts with the same settings your players have.

  5. Start it and wait for Done

The first start loads 163 mods and builds the spawn area, which takes a few minutes. When the console prints Done, players join with the address from the panel.

Packs Close to Vault Hunters

Craft to Exile 2 is the other loot driven action RPG here, with maps instead of vaults. DawnCraft swaps loot for souls-like bosses, and Direwolf20 is a calmer building pack for the same kind of group.

Questions About Vault Hunters Servers

Which version of Vault Hunters should my server run?

The newest release of the Third Edition, 3.21.7 from 28 July 2026, unless your group plays an older one. Server and players have to match exactly.

How much RAM does a Vault Hunters server need?

Plan 6 GB for a duo or trio, 8 GB for a mid sized group and 12 GB when nine or more share the world. Several vaults opening at the same time are the heaviest moment.

Does Vault Hunters have a server pack?

It does. The makers put a server pack next to release 3.21.7, and that is what our installer unpacks, so the settings on the server match the ones your players have. Forge 40.3.11 is set along the way.

Can I play Vault Hunters alone on a server?

Yes. The pack works for a single player too, and a server has the advantage that the world is there whenever you want it, without your own computer running it.
