What Homestead Is

The pack has 340 mods, 43 of them purely for the players. Farmer's Delight and a long row of Let's Do mods, among them Vinery, Brewery, Farm and Charm, Herbal Brews, Candlelight, Meadow and Beach Party, fill the kitchen and the fields. Handcrafted, Macaw's and Immersive Furniture give builders more to place, and Create with Create Deco is there for players who want machines.

The world is shaped by Tectonic, Regions Unexplored and Oh The Biomes We've Gone, and FTB Quests offers a gentle route through it all. Open Parties and Claims keeps the neighbours' gardens safe on a server.

How Much RAM a Homestead Server Needs

A small group runs on 5 GB, four to eight players want 7 GB, and sixteen are comfortable with 9 GB. Fabric keeps the base light, and Lithium, ModernFix and FerriteCore are in the pack. The load comes from farms and animals: crops growing, livestock in pens and villagers going about their day all tick along while players are nearby.

Explore early and the world is heavy for a while, because three terrain mods shaping every new chunk make generation slower than vanilla. Chunky is in the pack, so a short pregeneration around spawn before opening the server keeps the first weeks smooth.

Setting Up Without a Server Pack

Homestead does not publish a server pack. Our installer puts the 297 server side mods in place and switches the server to Fabric for Minecraft 1.20.1, but the pack's settings stay behind in the config folder of the pack your players install.

Copy that folder from your own install into the server with the file manager before the first start. Homestead's quest book lives there, in the ftbquests folder, together with the tuned settings of its farming mods; without it the server runs every mod on its defaults and the quest book stays empty.

Setting Up Homestead on Our Panel

1. Back up what is there now

   If the server already holds a world, make a backup on the Backups tab. The installer moves an old mods folder aside under a dated name instead of deleting it. A server on Paper or vanilla goes to Fabric on the Settings tab first, because the Mods tab only shows on a server with a mod loader.

2. Search for Homestead on the Mods tab

   Type the name and pick the Homestead entry from CurseForge.

3. Choose version 1.3.7, or the one your group runs

   Take the exact version your players installed. Two releases can differ by a few mods, and a player whose list does not match the server's is turned away at the door.

4. Install, then copy the config folder

   This release has no server pack, so the installer places the 297 server side mods and sets Fabric 0.18.4 for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Java 17. The configs do not come along: upload the config folder from your own install in the file manager before the first start.

5. Start it and wait for Done

   The first start loads 297 mods and builds the spawn area, which takes a few minutes. When the console prints Done, players join with the address from the panel.
