What StoneBlock Is

StoneBlock 4 has 411 mods, 35 of them purely for the players. Hammers turn stone into gravel, sand and dust, and everything after that runs through Mekanism, Create, Applied Energistics 2, Ender IO, Industrial Foregoing, Oritech, Powah, Ars Nouveau and Occultism. FTB Team Bases gives each team its own space in the stone, and Compact Machines lets a base grow without tunnelling further.

StoneBlock 3 on Forge 1.18.2 has 222 mods and is played through Feed The Beast's own app as well as CurseForge. Its mix leans on Thermal, Tinkers' Construct, Immersive Engineering, Botania, Blood Magic and Refined Storage.

How Much RAM a StoneBlock Server Needs

6 GB covers up to three players, 8 GB a group of four to eight, and 11 GB anything bigger. A stone world generates quickly, and the base is where the load builds up: machines packed into dug out rooms, and Compact Machines, each a room in a dimension of its own that the server keeps running.

For StoneBlock 3 the makers publish figures of their own, shown under the table. They describe a small group; ours are for a group that has been playing for a while.

For FTB StoneBlock 3, the makers themselves put the minimum at 4 GB and recommend 6 GB.

Feed The Beast Packs Bring Their Configs

StoneBlock 3 comes from Feed The Beast's own catalogue, where every file of the pack is listed, configs included. Our installer reads that list and puts everything in place, so the server starts with the same settings as your players. StoneBlock 4 is installed from its CurseForge server pack, which carries the configs as well.

Both editions include Feed The Beast's backup mod, which keeps copies inside the server folder. If you leave it on next to our nightly backups, trim the older copies now and then so they do not eat the plan's storage.

Setting Up StoneBlock on Our Panel

1. Back up what is there now

   If the server already holds a world, make a backup on the Backups tab. The installer moves an old mods folder aside under a dated name instead of deleting it. A server on Paper or vanilla goes to NeoForge on the Settings tab first, because the Mods tab only shows on a server with a mod loader.

2. Search for StoneBlock on the Mods tab

   Type the name and pick the FTB StoneBlock 4 entry from CurseForge. FTB StoneBlock 3 is listed next to it as a separate pack, so check the name before you click.

3. Choose version 1.22.0, or the one your group runs

   Take the exact version your players installed. Two releases can differ by a few mods, and a player whose list does not match the server's is turned away at the door.

4. Install it in one go

   The machine fetches the pack itself and switches the server to NeoForge 21.1.250 for Minecraft 1.21.1. The server pack the makers put out carries the configs, so the server starts with the same settings your players have.

5. Start it and wait for Done

   The first start loads 376 mods and builds the spawn area, which takes a few minutes. When the console prints Done, players join with the address from the panel.
