DeceasedCraft Server Hosting
DeceasedCraft drops your group into cities overrun by the infected. TqLxQuanZ built it on Forge 1.20.1 around ruined skyscrapers, firearms and a tech tree for staying alive, and it has passed nine million downloads.
What DeceasedCraft Is

The pack has 306 mods, of which 44 stay on the players' side. The Lost Cities builds the world as abandoned cities, highways and ruins, TaCZ supplies the firearms, and Zombie Awareness and The Hordes make the dead hear gunshots and arrive in waves. Legendary Survival Overhaul adds temperature and thirst, so a winter from Serene Seasons becomes a real problem.
For the long run there is a tech tree through Create and Immersive Engineering, and Immersive Aircraft lets a group leave a lost city behind by air. A quest line guides the whole thing.

How Much RAM a DeceasedCraft Server Needs
Two things set the size: the city and the crowd. Lost Cities chunks are full of buildings, far more blocks than a normal landscape, and each one is saved to disk and loaded back when players return. A zombie horde is dozens of creatures chasing sound at once. For two or three friends we plan 7 GB; at four to eight players it is 9 GB, and past that 12 GB.
Gunfire makes it heavier in a way other packs do not: every shot is a noise that draws more of the infected toward the shooter. A firefight in a dense city block is the busiest moment the server will see, so leave room above your everyday use.
| Group | Memory | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 3 players | 7 GB | Starter (8 GB) |
| 4 to 8 players | 9 GB | Standard (12 GB) |
| 9 to 16 players | 12 GB | Premium (24 GB) |
Pregenerate the City Before the Outbreak
Chunky is in the pack, and in a Lost Cities world it earns its place. Building a city chunk takes longer than a field or a forest, so run chunky radius 1500 and then chunky start from the console before anyone joins. The streets around spawn then exist before the first player runs down them.
The pack is still in beta and releases come regularly; 5.10.17 is from 17 July 2026. A beta update can change a lot at once, so back up before each one, and keep the server on the version your players have until everybody has moved.
Setting Up DeceasedCraft on Our Panel
Back up what is there now
If the server already holds a world, make a backup on the Backups tab. The installer moves an old mods folder aside under a dated name instead of deleting it. A server on Paper or vanilla goes to Forge on the Settings tab first, because the Mods tab only shows on a server with a mod loader.
Search for DeceasedCraft on the Mods tab
Type the name and pick the DeceasedCraft entry from CurseForge.
Choose version 5.10.17, or the one your group runs
Take the exact version your players installed. Two releases can differ by a few mods, and a player whose list does not match the server's is turned away at the door.
Install it in one go
The machine fetches the pack itself and switches the server to Forge 47.4.0 for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Java 17. The server pack the makers put out carries the configs, so the server starts with the same settings your players have.
Start it and wait for Done
The first start loads 262 mods and builds the spawn area, which takes a few minutes. When the console prints Done, players join with the address from the panel.

Packs Close to DeceasedCraft
Fear Nightfall is the horror pack for groups who want more dread than bullets, and Beyond Depth trades the cities for dangerous wilderness. RLCraft Dregora is the old school way to make survival hurt.
Questions About DeceasedCraft Servers
How much RAM does a DeceasedCraft server need?
Up to three players: 7 GB. Four to eight: 9 GB. Nine or more: 12 GB. Hordes in dense city blocks are the heaviest moments, so a group that fights a lot should take the next row.
Why is a DeceasedCraft world so large on disk?
Because a city chunk holds far more blocks than open countryside. Explored areas grow the world folder faster than in most packs, which is worth keeping in mind when you choose a plan and when you keep old backups around.
Does DeceasedCraft have a server pack?
Beta 5.10.17 has one, and it is the file our installer unpacks. The configs come with it, and the server moves to Forge 47.4.0 at the same time.
Can we play DeceasedCraft together?
Yes. Surviving a horde as a group is what the pack does best, and the quest line works on a server. Every player needs the same beta version to join.
