What Create Arcane Engineering Is

The pack has 197 mods, nine of them for players only. Create is the core, with Create Crafts and Additions for electricity and Steam 'n' Rails for trains. Ars Nouveau with Ars Creo and Ars Elemental provides the arcane half, Thermal and Tinkers' Construct join the recipe chain, and Applied Energistics 2 takes over storage later in the game.

A quest book leads through it all, and recipes are rewritten with KubeJS so that each mod needs the others. Farmer's Delight, Quark and Supplementaries keep the rest of the game pleasant.

How Much RAM a Create Arcane Engineering Server Needs

Plan 5 GB for a duo or trio, 7 GB for a mid sized group and 9 GB when nine or more share the world. The pack is modest in size; Create contraptions and trains are what add up, since the server calculates every moving part on every tick.

Trains in particular are worth planning for, because a long Steam 'n' Rails network keeps chunks busy along its route. The pack includes FTB Backups, spark for finding slow spots, and FTB Chunks for claims.

Adding to a Finished Pack

CAE's last release, 1.9.3, came out in November 2023, which makes it a stable pick: a server set up today will not see its recipes change halfway through a chapter.

If your group wants more, there are plenty of Create addons for 1.18.2, but the quest book is built around the pack's own recipes. Add mods that bring new things rather than ones that change existing recipes, and install every added mod on the players' side too.

Setting Up Create Arcane Engineering on Our Panel

1. Back up what is there now

   If the server already holds a world, make a backup on the Backups tab. The installer moves an old mods folder aside under a dated name instead of deleting it. A server on Paper or vanilla goes to Forge on the Settings tab first, because the Mods tab only shows on a server with a mod loader.

2. Search for Create Arcane Engineering on the Mods tab

   Type the name and pick the Create: Arcane Engineering entry from CurseForge.

3. Choose version 1.9.3, or the one your group runs

   Take the exact version your players installed. Two releases can differ by a few mods, and a player whose list does not match the server's is turned away at the door.

4. Install it in one go

   The machine fetches the pack itself and switches the server to Forge 40.2.9 for Minecraft 1.18.2 on Java 17. The server pack the makers put out carries the configs, so the server starts with the same settings your players have.

5. Start it and wait for Done

   The first start loads 188 mods and builds the spawn area, which takes a few minutes. When the console prints Done, players join with the address from the panel.
