What OceanBlock 2 Is

The pack has 309 mods, 28 of them for players only. Feed The Beast's own FTB Stuff and Things and FTB Ocean Mobs shape the start, and the tech and magic that follow come from Mekanism, Applied Energistics 2, Refined Storage, Ender IO, Powah, Oritech, Just Dire Things, Extreme Reactors, Mystical Agriculture, Ars Nouveau and Occultism.

FTB Team Bases gives each team its own spot on the water, and Compact Machines lets a base grow inside rooms of its own instead of across the waves. The quest book leads the way.

How Much RAM an OceanBlock 2 Server Needs

Start at 6 GB for a few players, go to 8 GB once four to eight play, and to 10 GB for a larger crowd. Open ocean is cheap to generate, so the load follows your production, and an OceanBlock base packs its machines into little space, much like a skyblock.

Sea life is the other part. Fish and ocean mobs live in every loaded water chunk, and a base surrounded by sea keeps a lot of water loaded. spark is included if you want to see what the server spends its time on.

Version Numbers That Look Like Minecraft's

OceanBlock 2 numbers its releases in a way that looks like Minecraft versions. Release 1.21.1 of the pack, from 24 August 2026, runs on Minecraft 1.21.1, but so did 1.20.0 and 1.19.0 before it: every OceanBlock 2 release is for Minecraft 1.21.1. When you compare with your players, compare the pack version.

FTB Ranks and FTB Chunks are in the pack, so the server owner can give trusted players more rights and let each team claim its own stretch of sea.

Setting Up OceanBlock 2 on Our Panel

1. Back up what is there now

   If the server already holds a world, make a backup on the Backups tab. The installer moves an old mods folder aside under a dated name instead of deleting it. A server on Paper or vanilla goes to NeoForge on the Settings tab first, because the Mods tab only shows on a server with a mod loader.

2. Search for OceanBlock 2 on the Mods tab

   Type the name and pick the FTB OceanBlock 2 entry from CurseForge.

3. Choose version 1.21.1, or the one your group runs

   Take the exact version your players installed. Two releases can differ by a few mods, and a player whose list does not match the server's is turned away at the door.

4. Install it in one go

   The machine fetches the pack itself and switches the server to NeoForge 21.1.248 for Minecraft 1.21.1. The server pack the makers put out carries the configs, so the server starts with the same settings your players have.

5. Start it and wait for Done

   The first start loads 281 mods and builds the spawn area, which takes a few minutes. When the console prints Done, players join with the address from the panel.
