MC Eternal 2 Server Hosting

MC Eternal 2 is a hybrid pack that tries to have something for everyone: tech, magic, colonies, dragons and a long list of bosses, all on Forge 1.20.1. With 610 mods it is the biggest pack we have counted, and its server needs are set by that number before anything else.

What MC Eternal 2 Is

The MC Eternal 2 modpack logo
MC Eternal 2 by adam98991: Minecraft 1.20.1 on Forge, 610 mods in the newest release.

adam98991 built MC Eternal 2 as a hybrid. Mekanism, Create, Applied Energistics 2 and Thermal serve the engineers; Ars Nouveau, Botania, Occultism, Goety, Hex Casting and Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks the magic users; and MineColonies the players who would rather run a town. Ad Astra goes to space, while Ice and Fire, Alex's Caves and L_Ender's Cataclysm bring dragons, strange caves and bosses.

A quest book with hundreds of tasks and challenges ties it together, and Terralith with part of the YUNG's series reshapes the world those quests send you into. The pack keeps growing: release 1.3 came out on 16 September 2026.

How Much RAM an MC Eternal 2 Server Needs

More than any other pack on this site. Of 610 mods, 549 load on the server, and holding their blocks, items, recipes and quests in memory takes several gigabytes before a single chunk is loaded. Up to three players: 9 GB. Four to eight: 12 GB. Nine or more: 16 GB.

After that, MineColonies is the mod to watch. Every colonist is a creature with a job and a path to walk, so a town of fifty citizens is fifty entities thinking at once, plus the buildings they work in. A server where several players each run a colony belongs in the largest row, and the Performance line is worth a look when colonies and factories grow side by side.

Our memory figures for MC Eternal 2 by group size, and the plan that covers each with a gigabyte to spare

The First Start and the First Chunks

Expect the first start to take a while. Forge sets up 549 mods one after another, and on a pack this size several minutes pass before the console prints Done. Later starts take about as long, so plan restarts for quiet moments rather than the middle of an evening.

Chunky ships with the pack. Before your group joins, run chunky radius 2000 and then chunky start from the console, and the heaviest part of exploring, generating terrain with Terralith, the structure mods and every biome in the list, happens while nobody is playing.

Setting Up MC Eternal 2 on Our Panel

  1. Back up what is there now

If the server already holds a world, make a backup on the Backups tab. The installer moves an old mods folder aside under a dated name instead of deleting it. A server on Paper or vanilla goes to Forge on the Settings tab first, because the Mods tab only shows on a server with a mod loader.

  2. Search for MC Eternal 2 on the Mods tab

Type the name and pick the MC Eternal 2 entry from CurseForge.

  3. Choose version 1.3, or the one your group runs

Take the exact version your players installed. Two releases can differ by a few mods, and a player whose list does not match the server's is turned away at the door.

  4. Install it in one go

The machine fetches the pack itself and switches the server to Forge 47.4.2 for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Java 17. The server pack the makers put out carries the configs, so the server starts with the same settings your players have.

  5. Start it and wait for Done

The first start loads 549 mods and builds the spawn area, which takes a few minutes. When the console prints Done, players join with the address from the panel.

Packs Close to MC Eternal 2

ATM9 is the other giant of 1.20.1, somewhat smaller and more focused on tech. Valhelsia 6 mixes tech, magic and exploration at half the size, and Medieval MC shares MineColonies but builds everything around a medieval world.

Questions About MC Eternal 2 Servers

How much RAM does MC Eternal 2 need?

Start at 9 GB for a few players, go to 12 GB once four to eight play, and to 16 GB for a larger crowd. Do not go below 9 GB, even for two players: the mods alone fill most of a smaller server before the world loads.

Is MC Eternal 2 too big for a small plan?

Yes. With 549 mods on the server it needs more memory than an 8 GB plan leaves once Java has taken its share. A group on a tight budget that still wants variety does well with Valhelsia 6, which covers similar ground at less than half the size.

Does MC Eternal 2 include MineColonies?

Yes, MineColonies is part of the pack. Colonies are among the heaviest things a player can build, because every citizen is a creature the server runs, so keep an eye on them on a shared server.

Which Java does MC Eternal 2 run on?

Java 17, the version for Minecraft 1.20.1. The panel sets it when it installs the pack, together with Forge 47.4.2.
