What DawnCraft Is

DawnCraft: Echoes of Legends has 298 mods, 22 of which only matter to players. Combat is at its heart. Epic Fight replaces the vanilla swing with weapon movesets, Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks adds magic, and a line of boss mods, among them L_Ender's Cataclysm, Mowzie's Mobs and Bosses of Mass Destruction, fills the world with fights worth preparing for. The pack has its own classes and a quest line of its own.

Exploration is the other half. When Dungeons Arise, Blue Skies, Incendium and Aquamirae add places to go, Alex's Mobs and Mutant Monsters fill them, and Dragon Mounts lets a patient player raise a dragon.

How Much RAM a DawnCraft Server Needs

Bosses and crowds are what a DawnCraft server spends its time on. Every creature from those boss and mob mods has its own AI and attacks, Champions turns some of them into elites with extra abilities, and Improved Mobs makes ordinary ones smarter. Our figure is 6 GB for up to three players and 11 GB for nine or more.

Where your players fight matters as much as how many there are. A group that travels together shares one set of loaded chunks and one crowd; a group that splits up in four directions makes the server run four. Pregenerating helps too, because DawnCraft's structure mods make each new chunk expensive to build.

Pregenerate With the Chunky in the Pack

DawnCraft ships Chunky, so the tool is on your server as soon as the install finishes. From the console, set a radius with chunky radius 2000 and begin with chunky start, the night before your group logs in. The first days of exploring then happen on terrain that exists, and the stutters that come with dungeon generation happen while nobody plays.

The pack also includes FTB Ranks and a chunk claiming mod, so you can give trusted players more rights and let everyone protect their camp. Both live in the server's own configs, which come along with the server pack ready to edit in the file manager.

Setting Up DawnCraft on Our Panel

1. Back up what is there now

   If the server already holds a world, make a backup on the Backups tab. The installer moves an old mods folder aside under a dated name instead of deleting it. A server on Paper or vanilla goes to Forge on the Settings tab first, because the Mods tab only shows on a server with a mod loader.

2. Search for DawnCraft on the Mods tab

   Type the name and pick the DawnCraft entry from CurseForge.

3. Choose version 2.0.16_hf, or the one your group runs

   Take the exact version your players installed. Two releases can differ by a few mods, and a player whose list does not match the server's is turned away at the door.

4. Install it in one go

   The machine fetches the pack itself and switches the server to Forge 40.2.17 for Minecraft 1.18.2 on Java 17. The server pack the makers put out carries the configs, so the server starts with the same settings your players have.

5. Start it and wait for Done

   The first start loads 276 mods and builds the spawn area, which takes a few minutes. When the console prints Done, players join with the address from the panel.
