Cottage Witch Server Hosting

Cottage Witch is a cozy vanilla++ pack with a witchy mood: herbs, brews, a cottage at the edge of the woods and animals to keep you company. HeyKatu keeps it on Forge 1.19.2, and it is still updated, with release 1.17.8 from July 2026.

What Cottage Witch Is

The Cottage Witch modpack logo
Cottage Witch by HeyKatu: Minecraft 1.19.2 on Forge, 372 mods in the newest release.

The pack has 372 mods, and 28 of those never touch the server. Hexerei brings the witchcraft, with herbs, brews and a broom to fly on, and Ars Nouveau with three of its add-ons adds a gentler kind of spellcasting. Brewin' and Chewin' and Farmer's Delight fill the kitchen, and Dave's Potioneering changes how potions work.

Building is a big part of it: Handcrafted, Another Furniture, Fantasy Furniture and Macaw's give a cottage everything it needs, and Oh The Biomes You'll Go gives it somewhere beautiful to stand. Alex's Mobs and Critters and Companions keep the woods lively, and the Twilight Forest waits for a longer walk.

How Much RAM a Cottage Witch Server Needs

6 GB covers up to three players, 8 GB a group of four to eight, and 10 GB anything bigger. For a cozy pack Cottage Witch is fairly large, with 344 mods on the server, so it starts a little heavier than its mood suggests. Day to day it stays calm: gardens, animals and a kitchen ask far less than factories.

The one thing to watch is exploring. Oh The Biomes You'll Go adds a great many biomes, and new chunks are the heaviest thing a Cottage Witch server does. Pregenerate the area around spawn from the World tab before your group moves in.

A Village of Separate Cottages

Cottage Witch has a quest book that leads through its mods at a relaxed pace, and FTB Chunks lets each player claim the land around their cottage. On a server shared by a few friends that makes it easy to build a little village of separate homes, each with its own garden.

FTB Backups is included as well, next to the nightly backups every plan gets. For a world that is mostly builds, those backups are what matters, and restoring one takes a few clicks.

Setting Up Cottage Witch on Our Panel

  1. Back up what is there now

If the server already holds a world, make a backup on the Backups tab. The installer moves an old mods folder aside under a dated name instead of deleting it. A server on Paper or vanilla goes to Forge on the Settings tab first, because the Mods tab only shows on a server with a mod loader.

  2. Search for Cottage Witch on the Mods tab

Type the name and pick the Cottage Witch entry from CurseForge.

  3. Choose version 1.17.8, or the one your group runs

Take the exact version your players installed. Two releases can differ by a few mods, and a player whose list does not match the server's is turned away at the door.

  4. Install it in one go

The machine fetches the pack itself and switches the server to Forge 43.5.1 for Minecraft 1.19.2 on Java 17. The server pack the makers put out carries the configs, so the server starts with the same settings your players have.

  5. Start it and wait for Done

The first start loads 344 mods and builds the spawn area, which takes a few minutes. When the console prints Done, players join with the address from the panel.

Questions About Cottage Witch Servers

How much RAM does a Cottage Witch server need?

For two or three friends we plan 6 GB; at four to eight players it is 8 GB, and past that 10 GB. Exploring new biomes is the heaviest part; a settled village is calm.

Is Cottage Witch a good first modded server?

Yes. It stays close to vanilla, adds its magic and furniture gently, and has no pressure to progress, which suits friends who have mostly played vanilla.

Does Cottage Witch have a server pack?

Yes, release 1.17.8 has one. Our installer unpacks it on the machine, which brings the quest book and the settings along with the mods and picks Forge 43.5.1.

Which Minecraft version is Cottage Witch on?

Minecraft 1.19.2 with Forge, running on Java 17. The panel sets both when it installs the pack.
