Minecraft Server Hosting in the US Central
US Central exists for the server whose players do not agree on a coast. Instead of making one half of the community happy and the other half wait, it puts the server between them and gives both a reasonable answer. It is a compromise on purpose.
Who sits close to US (Central)
Texas, the Midwest, the Great Plains and the Mountain states are all near it, and both coasts are within reach without either being ideal. For a player in Denver or Dallas this is simply the best region we have.
Who picks US (Central)
Servers with players on both coasts
Nobody gets the best possible connection and nobody gets the worst. On a community server that trade is usually the right one.
Communities in the middle of the country
If your players are in Texas, Illinois, Colorado or Minnesota, this is not a compromise for them at all: it is the closest region we run.
Servers that keep arguing about lag
When half the complaints come from one coast and half from the other, moving to the middle ends the argument faster than any setting will.
What every plan costs in the US Central
The surcharge is already in these prices. It is the same as for our western American region and a little under the eastern one.

When another region is the better answer
If two thirds of your players are on one coast, host on that coast instead. A compromise only pays off when there is genuinely something to split the difference between.
Questions about the US Central region
Why pick Central over East or West?
Because your players are on both coasts. If they are not, one of the other two is closer to more of them and Central has no advantage.
How much worse is it for coastal players?
Noticeably better than the opposite coast and slightly worse than their own. That middle position is the entire point of the region.
Can I switch region if I picked wrong?
Yes. We move the server, the world and the settings come along, and your address stays the same.
How do I find out where my players actually are?
Ask them. A one-question poll in your Discord beats guessing, and it usually turns out the community is less evenly spread than it feels: three or four regulars on one coast can make a whole server sound like it lives there.
Does the middle help with events?
It does, for the same reason it helps every evening: when a hundred people from both coasts turn up at once, nobody is waiting on the other side of the country. An event is where the compromise pays for itself.
