Singapore is our southeast Asian region, and it is also the most useful middle point we have: it sits within reach of Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines, and it is not unreasonable from Australia either. For a community scattered around that part of the world, it is usually the region that annoys the fewest people.

When another region is the better answer
For Japan, Korea and eastern China, our Japanese region is closer. For a purely Australian community, Sydney is closer. And for the Indian subcontinent, our Indian region beats both.

Is Singapore usable for Australian players?
Yes, and it is the region we suggest when a server has both Australian and Asian players. For Australians on their own, Sydney is closer.
Should Indian players use Singapore?
Only if the server is mainly southeast Asian. We run a region in India itself, and for a mostly Indian community that one wins.
Singapore or Japan?
Both cost the same, so pick the one your players are nearer to: Singapore for the southeast, Japan for the northeast.
Is it a good region for Indonesia and the Philippines?
Yes, and by a wide margin over anything American. Both are far closer to this region than to any other on our map.
How much better is it than a US server for players here?
Enough that it changes how the game feels rather than how it measures. Crossing the Pacific twice on every action is the single biggest thing a southeast Asian server can stop doing.
